Medical History
Structured review of previous illness, injuries, medication, allergies and relevant family history.

Screen. Clear. Protect. Recover. Return.
SafeSport™ helps schools, sports academies and clubs determine whether athletes are medically ready to participate—and safely manage what happens afterwards.
Every athlete begins with a structured Pre-Participation Health & Performance Assessment (PHPA).
From that first assessment, SafeSport™ creates a secure longitudinal athlete health record connecting medical eligibility, injuries, referrals, rehabilitation and return-to-play decisions across the athlete's sporting journey.
Every athlete assessed. Every athlete appropriately cleared. Every return-to-play decision traceable.
Thousands of young athletes train and compete through schools, academies and clubs.
Yet athlete healthcare is often fragmented.
An athlete may undergo a medical assessment in one facility, sustain an injury elsewhere, receive physiotherapy from another provider and return to sport without those decisions forming part of one continuous health record.
SafeSport™ creates a structured pathway connecting:
The result is a more coordinated approach to athlete safety for athletes, parents, clinicians, coaches and institutions.

The Pre-Participation Health & Performance Assessment (PHPA) is the clinical gateway into SafeSport™. Its purpose is to assess medical readiness for sport, establish a baseline health profile and identify conditions requiring monitoring, further evaluation, referral or modification of participation.
The assessment may include:
Structured review of previous illness, injuries, medication, allergies and relevant family history.
Assessment of symptoms and clinical findings relevant to safe sports participation.
Review of previous concussion, neurological symptoms and relevant risk factors.
Review of previous injuries, current symptoms, mobility, stability and functional concerns.
Structured clinical examination and relevant vital signs.
Additional assessment according to sport, position and participation demands.
A qualified clinician determines the athlete's medical eligibility and any requirement for monitoring, further evaluation or participation modification.
Medical confidentiality should not prevent coaches and institutions from knowing whether an athlete can safely participate. SafeSport™ separates confidential clinical information from operational participation information.
Following clinical assessment, authorized institutional personnel can receive a simple athlete participation status:
Athlete is medically eligible for participation.
Athlete may participate subject to specified monitoring or restrictions.
Further clinical assessment is required before eligibility can be determined.
Participation is temporarily restricted pending clinical review.
Coaches and administrators receive the information necessary to manage participation safely without unrestricted access to confidential medical records.
This becomes the athlete's SafeSport™ Eligibility Passport.
SafeSport™ follows the athlete beyond the initial assessment.
The athlete completes a structured PHPA.
A qualified clinician determines medical eligibility.
SafeSport™ creates the athlete's secure longitudinal health profile and eligibility status.
Authorized institutional personnel can verify participation status and relevant restrictions.
Injuries occurring during training or competition are assessed, documented and appropriately managed or referred.
Treatment, physiotherapy and rehabilitation progress can be documented within the athlete's pathway.
Return-to-play assessment establishes whether the athlete can safely resume participation.
Periodic or annual reassessment updates the athlete's baseline and medical eligibility.

Instead of isolated medical encounters, SafeSport™ creates a continuous athlete health history.
The record becomes more valuable as the athlete progresses through successive seasons of sport.
When an Athlete Gets Injured
SafeSport™ provides a structured pathway following injury:
Injury occurs
Clinical assessment
Digital injury documentation
Treatment / referral
Physiotherapy & rehabilitation
Progress monitoring
Return-to-play assessment
Medical eligibility updated
Safe return to participation
This creates continuity between the athlete, clinician, physiotherapist, coach and institution.
SafeSport™ can incorporate enhanced functional and movement assessment for athletes requiring more detailed prevention or performance support.
Standardized movements may be recorded using smartphone video and analysed using computer-vision technology to assist clinicians and physiotherapists in examining characteristics such as:
These findings are interpreted alongside clinical history, examination and functional assessment.
Clinical Governance Principle
AI supports clinical decision-making.
It does not independently diagnose injury, predict that an athlete will become injured or determine medical eligibility for sport.

SafeSport™ can extend athlete-health support beyond assessment into training and competition environments.
Medical personnel may be deployed for:
Services may include field-side assessment, first aid, emergency-response coordination, medical referral, injury documentation and follow-up coordination.
Institutions do not need to purchase an entire sports-medicine programme on day one. SafeSport™ begins with athlete assessment and medical eligibility. Additional clinical, rehabilitation, prevention and performance services can then be added according to institutional needs.

Privacy Is Part of the Product
SafeSport™ is designed around role-based access and minimum-necessary information sharing.
Clinical information and operational participation information are separated.
Clinicians access information appropriate to clinical care.
Coaches and administrators receive only the information required to manage athlete participation safely.
For younger athletes, guardian involvement, consent, confidentiality and safeguarding are incorporated into the workflow.
SafeSport™ therefore allows institutions to answer an important question—
“Can this athlete participate safely?”
—without unnecessarily revealing—
“What is in this athlete's medical record?”
As participating institutions and athletes accumulate longitudinal records, SafeSport™ can support appropriately governed, aggregated insights into athlete health and injury patterns.
Over time, this may help participating organizations understand:
Individual clinical care remains the foundation.
Aggregated intelligence becomes an additional institutional capability as the SafeSport™ network develops.
